Librarian’s Recommendation: Books by Ha Jin

Contemporary Chinese-American writer, Jin Xuefei [金雪飛], who uses the name Ha Jin [哈金],wrote a number of books. His first full-length novel “Waiting” won the 1999 National Book Award for Fiction and the 2000 PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Ha Jin was born in Liaoning [遼寧], China and grew up in the chaos of early Communist China. Many of his novels are set in the Army where he stayed for 6 years.

The Library has the following titles:

3.A free life
4.In the pond: a novel
5.Under the red flag: stories
6.Waiting
7.War trash: a novel
These books are now on display at the entrance of the Library.
