VeriGuide – Ready for Use

VeriGuide is a plagiarism detection software which helps to identify suspected plagiarised works and can be used as a tool to check whether citations have been properly included in assignments.

Since March 2011, the Library has worked closely with the Academic Services and Student Affairs Office (ASO) and the Information Technology and Services Unit (ITSU) to automate the data loading of course and student information onto the VeriGuide platform. At the same time, members of academic staff from the Department of Languages, Department of Liberal Arts Studies, School of Dance and School of Theatre and Entertainment Arts have participated in the pilot test.

We are now pleased to announce that the pilot test has been proven successful and a campus license has just been purchased. Commencing 16 November 2012, VeriGuide will be ready for us.  All members of staff who are teaching current courses will soon receive an email from VeriGuide with your personal login ID and password.  If you have questions regarding course and student information, please contact Mr. Kenneth Ting of ASO at 2584 8744 or by email at kennethting.aso@hkapa.edu; if you have questions regarding use of VeriGuide, you can contact Ms. Jenny Yee at 2584 8763 or by email at jennyyee.lib@hkapa.edu.

A series of workshops introducing you to the use of VeriGuide has been scheduled. To sign up, please fill out the Reply Slip as attached and email to jennyyee.lib@hkapa.edu. Please note that each workshop is limited to 10 participants and first come first served.
