New notebooks for loan

Three new notebooks have been acquired (2 English Windows, 1 Chinese Windows).  One of which would be kept in F/TV Library (English Windows).  They have all been installed with the Microsoft Office 2007, Sophos anti-virus, Apabi Reader, CAJ Reader, RefWorks plugin and recovery software, etc.  To check out, you would be required to complete the Notebook Computer Loan Form.  Loan period will be 3 hours and renewable 2 times if it has not been requested by another users.  For more details, please ask the circulation staff.

New Journal Titles 新增期刊

1.	Title: AV 雙周 Call No: TS2301.A7 A8 Library has no. 174 (Dec 2011)- 《AV 雙周》是一本潮流影音雜誌，針對讀者對高科技產品資訊的追求而設，內容以報導和測試最新的高清影音器材為主，包括家庭影院、流動影音、多媒體電腦等。 讀者可到學院圖書館或電影電視圖書館借閱。
2.	Title: 舞蹈鮮風= Y-Dance netgazine Call No: GV1703.H6 W85 Library has no.1 (Apr 2010)- 「多空間」創刊之舞蹈資訊雜誌，介紹「多空間」（Y-Space）創意心得與發展動向，並推介本港、大陸及海外舞蹈藝術家與藝術資訊。 讀者可到學院圖書館借閱。
3.	Title: 演藝校友通訊 Call No: LG51.H22 Y37 Library has no. 1 (2010)- 《演藝校友通訊》由演藝學院校友會出版，報導校友會最新活動。 讀者可到學院圖書館借閱。
4.	Title: 三角志= Delta zhi Call No: NX583.H6 D45 Library has no. 2 (May 2011)- 《三角志》主要報導兩岸四地（中港台澳）的藝術文化活動。 讀者可到學院圖書館借閱。

Shelf Arrangement for Feature Films

Previously, feature films of different languages were inter-shelved accordingly to the Library of Congress Classification Scheme which was not very meaningful to users.  To help users to access the feature film collection more easily, the Library staff has made some local changes to shelve items according to the original language of the feature films.

The new order for feature films (i.e. classification number begins with PN1995.9, PN1997 and PN1997.2) is as tabled.

Summer project

While you were away, we have been busy re-arranging the library. When you enter the AV room, you will notice a different arrangement of AV materials. DVDs, VCDs and blue ray discs have been inter-filed and removed to the shelves near the entrance to the AV Room. We have replaced a large number of videocassettes by DVDs, making room for the expanding CD collection. Blu-Ray Players

Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD) is the name of a new-generation optical disc format. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. The Library recently purchased two blu-ray players and they can be found in carrel no. 15 & 16. You can view blu-ray discs during the opening hours of Learning Resources Room.

DVD Players Available for Loan

From November 3, portable DVD players will be available for short term loan; staff and students could borrow for 3 hours during the day and overnight (from 3 hours before library closing). Overdue fines will be charged at HK$ 1 per hour. The service is provided for your convenience, please be considerate to other users and take GOOD care of the equipment.
