WiFi Coverage Extended to the Library Seminar Room
Users can now connect their notebook computers to access the Internet and campus network within the Library Seminar Room.
Please configure your notebook according to the setup procedure prepared by ITSU (Intranet login required).
Extra Blu-ray Player in Learning Resources Room
An extra blu-ray player has been installed at carrel No. 14 in the Learning Resources Room. There are altogether 4 blu-ray players, 3 in the Learning Resources Room and 1 in the Seminar Room.
New Blu-Ray Disc Player available in Seminar Room
In addition to the blu-ray disc players at carrels no. 15 & 16 in the Learning Resources Room, a new Blu-Ray Disc Player has been installed in the Seminar Room. It can be used to play code A blu-ray disc, code 3 DVD, VCD, CD, mp3, WMV and JPG, etc. Files stored on USB flash drive can also be displayed.
Seminar Room
The Library has a seminar room for meetings and group discussions which can accommodate up to 10 people. The room is equipped with computer, LCD projector and AV equipment for different formats. Members of staff can reserve the room in advance whereas students can make booking on the same day. Maximum duration per session is 3 hours. Students should be able to show more than one library card to use the room. Booking will be cancelled automatically if the person does not show up within 15 minutes. Library staff can release the room for others to use.
Library Seminar Room
Have you ever used the Seminar Room in the Library? It was the coolest spot in the Library. In order to make it more comfortable for you, the air conditioning system has been modified to allow adjustment of temperature within the Room. You may now have meeting or group discussion in this room without feeling too cold.
LIBRARY NEWS
Welcome back to another new academic year.
The Library has carried out some improvement work during the
summer break. Materials on shelves have been checked to ensure
that they are in correct order.
AV equipment in the Seminar Room has been upgraded to include a
large projector screen.
Recognizing the need for more and better computers, the Library has
replaced the old ones in the main area and new ones have been
added in the Learning Resources Room bringing the total number of
terminals from 8 to 14. A highresolution photo scanner has also
been installed in the Learning Resources Room for student and
staff to use.
In the coming months, notebook computers would be offered for
loan. So please watch out for new announcement.
We welcome a new member of staff who joined us in Aug 2006. She is Ms
Jenny Yee, Assistant Librarian II who will be responsible for library
provision of services for postgraduate students and liaison with schools and
